I attended my second SHOT Show® this year, but I only made it there by the skin of my teeth.  I have had a year full of change, my oldest child graduated from high school and started College, I retired from the Navy after 23+ years, I completed a successful job search and began a new career. As they say: change is constant. My biggest problem was the amount of vacation time I had available to me. I decided to use half the vacation time I had built up, which allowed me to go to Media Day at the Range, and two days of SHOT, but I had to leave Wednesday which meant I missed the Ladies Industry Dinner (my only regret!) All in all, it was a wonderful week!

I will have many exciting new products to show you in the coming days. I spent a lot of time looking at gear specifically for ladies.  I found a few new pistol designs, conceal carry options for women, and plenty of optics and long-range equipment as well. I was also able to see many of my industry and firearms media friends.  Great people like Hank and Lola Strange, my friends from We Like Shooting, Zeke from Talking Lead, Eden (Lil’ Red Danger), and Jason from Easy Bake Gun Club.  As with last year, I got to visit with the best gunsmith in the world, and I was SO thankful to see him!

I might even tell you about the day I went “Breaking Bad” in my zippy Mazdaspeed3, but you’ll have to beg to hear that one. It is one moment I am glad I didn’t get on video!

My new year’s resolution was to spend more time doing what I love, and that includes shooting and writing about shooting! SHOT is just what I needed to fuel my blogging fires.  Stay tuned…
