Move on assault weapons creates risks for President Obama

Reuters posted this article tonight. In it, one newly elected Republican warned Obama on Monday that the president could risk impeachment if he used his executive power to tighten gun controls.

“If the president is allowed to suspend constitutional rights on his own personal whims, our free republic has effectively ceased to exist,”

~Representative Steve Stockman of Texas said in a statement.

We know there is only so much President Obama can do via Executive Orders, but how do you think members of Congress will react if his does go forward unilaterally?

This morning, I was listening to my favorite Podcast, The Survival Podcast by Jack Spirko, he said this:

The moment the 2nd Amendment ceases to exist, the Republic ceases to exist.
