Screen Shot 2013-01-09 at 6.25.09 PMToday Former President, Bill Clinton, was the Keynote Speaker at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. He did get around to talking about electronics, but first used his platform to encourage increased gun control.  He asked, “Why does anyone need one of those things that carries 100 bullets?”  I know Bill Clinton is a very intelligent person, put perhaps he needs to go to the range with me, and I will teach him some proper terminology (before he continues to tell us what to do with our thingies.)

  1. Senators, Representatives and Citizens of the United States. The President believes you are impotent and cannot trust you to make this decision his way. The President will use an Executive Order to create an edict to infringe on American’s rights. Clearly, he’s stating that HIS opinion on the matter is the only one that counts. Nevermind the representation. Nevermind the people who voted in the representation. He believes you don’t know what’s good for you and will take away the right to decide for ourselves on the “important” issues.

Are you going to let this stand?

This is not a gun issue. It’s a rights issue.

Now is the time to send a clear message. Unite and strike down any measure that would restrict our right to bear arms. But, blocking isn’t enough. Take a step farther. You must show that you are not on the defensive. Prove it by repealing NFA restrictions on silencers, short barreled rifles and short barreled shotguns. Take another defiant step and legalize concealed carry nationwide and remove the ineffective, federally mandated “gun free zones”. But, that’s still not enough. Move to dissolve the BATFE who admit and have demonstrated incompetence. The coup de gras? A free, federally funded campaign and education program describing gun rights and responsibility from the money that was granted to the BATFE.

You want responsible gun owning citizens? Then don’t make this a fragmented endeavor by private organizations. A clear federally recognized, constitutional policy that is actively endorsed and consistently supported removes any ambiguity of the expected and grave responsibility of firearms ownership. Not forced. Expected.

Be honest. It would be easier and less costly, on many fronts, to pass the legislation described than to introduce restrictions. You are affirming a right to choose rather than attempting to create a nanny state. No one wants a decision made for them.

    Thank you for your time.

  2. He said half “half of all mass shootings occurred after the assault weapons ban expired”. Well Bill 17 mass shooting occurred DURING the assault weapons ban. Btw Bill those semi-auto rifles use magazines, not clips.

  3. This rush to gun control is just another leftist movement against the Second Amendment. More persons are killed by knives than guns, but you never hear about knife control, because politicians are not concerned about knives…they only wish to take the guns from lawful citizens. In New York, Gov. Cuomo wants more gun control, but recently announced that he is poised to see thousands more nut jobs released from supervision…an apparent Civil Rights issue. We are now under leftist domination and our Country and its system of laws are being destroyed. Shame on those who have thrown away our Nation’s greatness by supporting these anti-Americans. What will you say when they fully implement their agenda!
